A full custom coating development program typically runs 6–12 months from initial scoping through performance validation. Programs focused on process optimization for an existing alloy system can often be completed in 4–8 months. We provide a detailed program plan with milestones after the initial technical review.
Yes. All initial technical discussions are covered by a mutual NDA prior to any exchange of proprietary application data or design information. We routinely work under NDAs with aerospace and defense customers and understand the sensitivity of program information.
DRS provides both services. We can develop coating specifications and process documentation for your internal production team, or coat customer-supplied components at our Palo Alto facility. For production programs, we also support technology transfer to your preferred coating supplier.
